Recognizing ESL top achievers

ESL Awards

Last week, Columbia recognized a few of its top achieving ESL students. Awards were presented to top achievers in various ESL courses from December, January and February. Students who received the highest mark in their respective classes were presented with a certificate of distinction by Mr. Galea, ESL Department Head, Mr. Rambarran, Principal, and Mr. Putt, Head of Senior School.

Earlier this week, from March 30th to April 1st, Columbia International College held a Course Information Fair in the Living Wall Lounge.

Each day, teachers from different departments were in the Marketplace from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to discuss the courses offered in their department; Arts, English, Science, Math, Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, ESL and International Languages. Students were able to review course materials, speak with teachers, and explore academic opportunities for their next semester of study.

As people around the world prepare to celebrate the Easter holiday this weekend, we would like to inform you of the modifications to our office hours.

Most places of business, including Columbia, will be closed tomorrow – Friday, April 3rd – in observance of Good Friday. Students and teachers will also be off on Monday, April 6th, however most of our administrative offices at the Ainsliewood and Maple buildings will be open.

On behalf of Columbia, we want to wish everyone a safe and happy Easter.

Course change policy

Course Change

All registered students for the fall semester (201405) can make course changes at the Guidance office until August 5th.

Please note that returning students will not be able to meet their counsellors during orientation days from August 6th – 14th.

Returning students are requested to attend all their classes on the first day of school and will not be permitted to make any course changes on the first day.

Columbia International College is expanding its student Academic Support Program in residence. The Study Buddy Program is a peer academic support service designed by our Guidance Department. It is composed of a team of dedicated Columbia students who have a strong academic background and are enthusiastic about helping their peers.
