Duke of Edinburgh Excursion

Duke of Edinburgh Excursion

Over March Break a group of Columbia students embarked on an adventure journey at Bark Lake as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Program. Students braved the frigid temperatures and spent several days camping at Bark Lake. On their journey they hiked through the snow covered wilderness in snowshoes, used a sled to pull their equipment, and made an authentic site by chopping their own firewood, cooking over the campfire and setting up their own tents. Most importantly, students worked as a team to accomplish their goals.
