New bike rack installed on campus

A small addition has been made to the Ainsliewood building – a new bike rack!

Installed earlier this week, the new bike rack is now located at the front of the Ainsliewood building. The new location is conveniently situated in front of the Campus Safety Office for the safety and convenience of Columbia’s students and staff.

Over the next few weeks, new bike racks will also be installed at the Pine Hall Boys and Pine Hall Girls residences, as well as at the new Cedar campus.

Dear CIC Parents,

The safety and security of our students and staff is a top priority for Columbia International College. We have been implementing a number of measures as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at ensuring our school remains a safe place for our students to learn.

In addition to fire drills, one of the procedures we will be practicing is a lockdown drill at our school and our residences.

The school or residence would go into a lockdown when there is a potentially violent situation, which may include:

Falls and slips can easily occur in winter weather. Students are encouraged to exert extra caution when walking or crossing the street and are reminded to:

Pedestrian Safety Tips

At Columbia, the safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. To avoid preventable injuries, we encourage everyone to practice proper safety techniques.

As pedestrian safety affects all members of our school and local communities, we want to ensure our students know and understand local street rules. When crossing the street from Maple to Ainsliewood, or any street in Hamilton, you must remember to:

- ALWAYS obey traffic signals
- Check traffic before crossing when the “WALK” sign is flashing

Safety Matters

Safety Matters

Safety First. Be Alert, Don’t Get Hurt. Better Safe than Sorry. Be Aware, Take Care. These are just some of the mottos we want students to always keep in mind.
